Yo guys!!!Sorry for not updating my blog for a long time...haha...

Last weekends, I went to help out in Youth Life Ownership Programme at ITE Simei.

26th July 2008, Saturday

I woke up at 0530h. I was damn sleepy because I juz had 3 hours sleep. After I went down to the bus stop. And I realised tat there's no bus and MRT at that time and if I take the first trip, I will definately be late. So I took cab to ITE College East, Simei.

When I reached there, I saw Ken and the rest were busy setting up the registration area. Then I saw Rotarian Shirin. She was the in charge of the registration. Ben Woo with his father, Rtn. John Woo and Rtn Edmund had reached. After that, Rtn. Ban Seng allocated the housemasters. I was the housemaster of Red House #2, together with Rtn. Tan May Yan. Well, the housemasters of Red House #1 is Bambang and Soefian. They are very humorous.

All the housemasters had a short briefing before having breakfast. After breakfast, many participants from secondary schools had reached. So we, the housemasters, had to start working. Each subgroup of houses was given a walkie-talkie. So, I took the walkie-talkie and I started my busy day...

Firstly, we introduced ourselves to the participants. We were very worried because we were running behind the time. So, we had to act fast. We went to the indoor sport hall. The first programme is the adventurer, Mr. Khoo Swee Chiao's talk. He talked about his experiences in his expeditions to Mt. Everest, South Pole and North Pole. After that, speaker from US, Kevin Wanzer used his unique laughter and sense of humour to make us laugh. But, he talked too fast, so not everyone can understand his joke.

Well, after that, every group went to their session respectively. My group's first session was life coaching session. It's carried out by TJC students. Once settled down the group, I had a short rest and listen to the walkie-talkie. But, some students were down due to heatstroke. And an Indian boy had been sent to Changi General Hospital. At 1200h, we moved on to have our lunch. Finally we had adjusted our time back to as scheduled.

After lunch, my group had some physical excercise. They went to their sports respectively. And I, used this opportunity to slack abit. Eventhough I said slack, I didn't slack by the way. I helped Rtn. Edmund. I was impressed by a JC girl. Her name is Michelle. She is a well-organised girl. She was alone to arrange the materials on the table for participants. LOL...There's a girl who sprained her ankle earlier. So I piggybacked her to the lecture theatre at 4th floor. She was the first girl I piggybacked for such a long way besides my girlfriends.

I was damn tired. I ran around the campus with the walkie-talkie. But, we were lame sometimes. We talked funny things through walkie-talkie. Haha...The last session of the day is the talk of the outstanding youth award winner, Glenn Lim. He talked about his experience from bad to good, from zero to hero. There was a band performance in the end of the day. All participants were crazy about them. I don't know who the band is. haha...

After seeing all participants home, we finally could take a rest after a long day work. Although it's tiring, it's fun!!! We sat down and talked. Later, Rtn. Edmund dropped me at Simei MRT and I took MRT back.

After bathing, I onlined for a while to check my email. Then I went to sleep at around 0000h because I was exhausted and I had to wake up early in the morning and report myself there at 0630h.

27th July 2008, Sunday

I woke up at0600h and I called a cab to ITE Simei. When I reached there, everyone was busy arranging the registration area as the day before. I met my co-housemasters and had breakfast together. Rtn. Tan gave me a pair of pen as token of appreciation. It's so kind of her. After that, we started our another busy day again. The first session of the day is the adventure talk by Mr. Ong Hock Siew. I met him few times in RYLA. But I didn't really listen to his talk because I was dozed off.

After the talk, we went to career seminar. I went to the entrepreneurship section. There are 4 panelists, including Ms. Elim Chew, the founder and president of 77th Street (S) Pte. Ltd. I learnt many things from them. "We must grab every opportunity in front of us" is the main point of the seminar.

During the lunch time, Rtn. Edmund introduced me to some of the panelists. Then I sat for a while to talk with them. But, as housemaster, I had to excuse myself to do my duty.

After lunch, it's self coaching again. This session is about self promise. Every participant submitted a self promise by the end of this session. This made me thought of my sself promise. In fact, I have a promise to myself and I always abide by the promise in my heart.

After that self coaching session, it's teamwork and confident training. And I, as the housemaster, played along with my kids...I trusted them all and fell in their arms...And they never let me 'down'!!!haha....NICE!!!

Well, time flies. It came to the last session of the event. The closing ceremony was held in the auditorium. Mrs. Yu-Foo Yee Shoon, Minister of State for Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports, was the guest-of-honour for the night. I shook her hand before she left the place...LOL...After that, it's concert time!!!Every participant really enjoyed themselves in it. During the concert, I talked to Yuan Ching Sec. School and Jurong Sec. School students. Haha...

After seeing all of them home, our job had done....Woohoo!!!We all feel relieved, especially Norma and Ikram, Ken, Edmund and the rest. Well done!!!I hope I can join them again...ROCK IT!!

Today is Saturday. By right, I should rest at home after a long week. But I still woke up early to attend the meeting of Youth Life Ownership (YLO) at ITE college east. I took cab to there because I overslept. I called Kris for asking the meeting point. Then I met the rotarians in the canteen. I have a short conversation with Susan to report how our club is doing now. I told her I will take the role as secretary in the club, as my promise to Gladys.

After that, we went to a room to start the meeting. I helped them to set up the laptop and projectors.First session is the training for Temasek JC students because they will be the trainers on the actual day. I looked around and realized that girls are more than boys!!hehe...

The rest of us walked through the whole program. And I was chosen to be one of the house house masters, the second highest authority figure in the event. And I am the youngest one!!!I am so honoured...After the walkthrough, we went back to the room and the training for TJC students had finished. It's lunchtime!!!Initially, we wanted to have lunch at canteen. But it closed. So we went to House of Lobster to have lunch.YEAH!!!It's a very nice lunch...Haha...

After the fabulous lunch, we continue the training. After going through the program, I found those activities are very helpful to youth...The whole meeting ended at 1730h. I took train back with Richard. Haha...

I am really looking forward to YLO...I am finding volunteers...If you are interested, tell me!!!

i will always miss you*

Last Friday was the first lab test of AMMP. So scary...But luckily I still managed to finish it on time. After school, I accompanied James because he got GEM later at 1300h. So we went to my clubroom and rest. He was doing his GEM assignment while I was reading 'The Phantom of the Opera'. Haha...

I went back to my palace (home in Malaysia). After two-hour plus journey, I finally reached home. Then I met my secondary school friends at night. I drove alone from my home to the place that we met. Long time never see them!!!They never changed!! I was damn tired and my purpose of going home is to rest...Haha...I slept in my parents' room. And I fell asleep while we were chatting.

Next day, I went to cut my hair, buy my stuff. At 1630h, I went to find my best best friend, Pek. I went to his house, and I got the music score of 'The Phantom of the Opera'! Thanks, dude!!!We played snooker, pool. Then I played his grand piano. That was the first time I played piano in front of others. And his father came in and saw me playing piano. haha...

Then, Pek, his brother and I rode on a motorcycle to the back of his house, the land that the mineral water factory will be built. It's been a while since my last riding motorcycle. Then his parents invited me to have dinner together. On the way to the restaurant, his father talked to me and he made a remark that there's no 'difficult' this word in my dictionary. I was shocked because this was the first time people told me that. I was thinking, is it true? I get what he means, and I think it's true for me bah...Seriously, in my mind, Mr. Pek is the 'rich dad' from 'Rich Dad, Poor Dad'. I learn many things from him. I like to talk to him, as well as Mrs. Pek. Haha...

Then I drove back and I fell asleep again while sms with someone. Haha...I am a piglet indeed.

i will always miss you*
